Fraudulent Email Targeting WOGCF Members
It has come to our attention that a malicious email was recently sent to members of our congregation using a fraudulent email address. This email was not sent by Pastor Hoskin, WOGCF leadership, or anyone associated with our ministry.
The fraudulent email was sent from the following address: erick.hoskin.wogcf@gmail.com
This is not a WOGCF email address. Please do not respond to it, click any links within it, or send any money or personal information as a result of receiving it. If you received this email, please delete it immediately.
HOW TO IDENTIFY A LEGITIMATE WOGCF EMAIL
All official communication from WOGCF and Pastor Hoskin will only ever come from an email address ending in @wogcf.org. If the email address does not end in @wogcf.org, it is not from us — regardless of the name displayed in the message.
WOGCF WILL NEVER EMAIL YOU ASKING FOR MONEY
This is our firm and unwavering policy. We will never send an email requesting a financial gift, wire transfer, gift card, or any form of payment. Any email you receive asking for money — even if it appears to come from Pastor Hoskin or another church leader — should be treated as fraudulent and reported to us immediately.
All giving and financial transactions are processed exclusively through our secure donation platform, Realm. If you wish to give, please do so only through the official Realm link on our website or the link provided in our verified communications from @wogcf.org.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU RECEIVE A SUSPICIOUS EMAIL
- Do not reply to the email or engage with the sender in any way
- Do not click any links or download any attachments
- Do not send money under any circumstances
- Delete the email from your inbox immediately
- Report it to us by contacting the church office directly so we can monitor the situation and alert other members if needed
- Report it to your email provider by marking it as phishing or spam so the fraudulent address can be flagged and blocked
IF YOU ALREADY RESPONDED OR SENT MONEY
Please do not be embarrassed — these scams are sophisticated and designed to deceive. If you responded to the fraudulent email or sent any funds, please take the following steps immediately:
- Contact your bank or financial institution to report the transaction and request a reversal if possible
- Change your email password if you shared any account information
- Contact the church office right away so we can support you through next steps
- If you sent a gift card or wire transfer, contact the gift card company or wire service immediately as these transactions may be reversible within a short window of time

When in doubt, call us directly. We would rather hear from you than have you fall victim to a scam.
